Dear Daddy-Long-Legs,

I’m in the basketball team.

Julia Pendleton tried for the team, but she didn’t get in. Hooray!

You see what a mean disposition I have.

College gets nicer and nicer.

※nicer and nicer: 比較級 and 比較級で「ますます~」

I like girls and the teachers and the classes and the campus and the things to eat.

If my letters bore you, you can always toss them into the waste basket.

You’ve never heard about my clothes, have you, Daddy?

Six dresses, all new and beautiful and bought for me – not handed down from somebody bigger.

We had a molasses candy pull last Friday evening.

When it was finally finished, ourselves and the kitchen and the door-knobs (are) all thoroughly sticky.

We organized a procession, still in our caps and aprons, each carrying a big fork or spoon or frying pan, we marched through empty corridors.

Eleven pages – poor Daddy, you must be tired!
